15 Digs
Fairland Aquatics Construction Blog Entry #3
Pictured above is a drainage pipe. There are 13 of these pipes spread approximately 40 feet apart throughout the aforementioned trench. The function of these pipes is to drain the water from the deck drainage system down into the sewer. On Monday, a crew will be sending cameras down into each of these pipes to check for any sort of ruptures that could lead to water leakage. Any water leakage from these pipes can lead to hollow voids under our deck. Checking these pipes was not part of the original construction plan but a void was discovered last week during the cutting of the trench. This void led to a portion of our deck collapsing in slightly. Fortunately, as long as there aren’t any other voids discovered, this situation should not prolong an already aggressive timeline.
