Is it payday already? This summer we’ve provided youth within Prince George’s County summer employment through the Maryland Conservation Jobs Corps and the County’s Summer Youth Employment Program. Starting June 30 through August 1, we hired and placed hundreds of youth around Prince Georges County, providing them with an opportunity to build a positive work ethic and confidence! Jamon, a senior at Largo High school is enjoying his 2nd summer working with us at Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary. He conserves the park, assists with cutting down trees and protects the wild life. When asked what is the best part of his job he simply responded “Being outside with nature”. Monday through Friday Jamon works 8:00am – 2:30pm, looking forward to paid day. “I get paid well, I’m happy when payday comes” Jamon stated.
