Rock the Boat

In the words of the great Aaliyah, “Rock the Boat”! At 7pm on July 31, 2014, the Spirit of Washington took off to sail the Potomac River for our annual Rock the Boat Dinner Cruise. 100+ teens from all over Prince George’s County came together to make new friends, eat great food and simply enjoy the ambiance of the Spirit of Washington. With music from the incredible DJ Rhythm G and a performance from Young Motive, teens rocked the boat as if it was the first day of Summer Break. While Cheyenne, from Thurgood Marshall Middle School Teen Site, hit the top of the deck, her eyes were in awe at the view. “This was a mind-blowing experience. I’ve never been on a boat before”. Also, Lori, the Director from Thurgood Marshall Teen Site, stated, “I love it and have been going for the last 10 years”.
